Anaconda magic: Morgan and Freddie lead medal rush

JUNIORS from Anaconda Swimming Club celebrated a mighty medal haul on Saturday at the Edmonton Phoenix Winter Sprints.
The squad of 44 put in a series of stunning swims at the Southbury Road pool, scooping a total of 43 trophies as they continued their outstanding start to the season.
Delighted duo Morgan Mockler and Freddie Cornwell won all four of their individual strokes to earn the Caledonian Road-based club eight gold medals.
And 11-year-old Mockler recorded a time of 34.19 to set a new record in the 50m backstroke, while her times in the butterfly, breaststroke and the freestyle were the ideal fillip ahead of next month’s Middlesex Championships. Not to be outdone, Cornwell, 10, broke his own record in the 50m backstroke with a time of 36.44.
Triumphant trio Fred Goudie, Aimee-Rose Nahal and Ethan Harrington all won silver medals, while Naomi Jeffs, Fred Celul, Megan Thompson, Maisie Parker, Emily Hepden, Mario Robec and Caitriona Wastell all collected bronze medals.
