Camden New Journal - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 29 January 2009

Control freaks and the young

• IF I were a teenager, I’d be foaming at the mouth (Curfew for children? January 22).
Why shouldn’t children go out at night if they want to? If they’re not clearly breaking the law as applies to adults, leave them alone. Ozman Dahab is right: these young people, unstable or otherwise, will believe that they’re being arrested or detained.
They’ll also be right. This sort of thing has been going on for years under this patronising, anti-youth, control freak, Labour government and it makes me sick. Today’s children should be as legally free as I was – without coming to any harm.
MARK TAHA, SE26
