Camden New Journal - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 31 December 2008

NHS back to basics

• A NUMBER of your readers want better NHS services in London. Over the past years the health service has become very fragmented in England, but to my mind it is not beyond repair.
The government will need to abolish all foundation trusts and return to basics. Set up four large general health trusts and four mental health trusts in London, North, South-east and West, each providing care for up to two million residents.
Camden and Islington Mental Health Trust should link up with the Barnet and Enfield and Enfield and Haringey mental health trusts to form the North London Mental Health Trust. Similarly, all general hospitals in north London should link up.
In this way, all residents will get a good health service.
