Camden New Journal - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 11 December 2008

Cycle cops

• THE other day I was accosted by two police officers lurking behind a hedge at the Regent’s Canal footbridge from Primrose Hill to Regent’s Park as I cycled safely and slowly across it!
The lady lawyer cycling behind was apoplectic when stopped, we offered less hazard to the public than many ear-phoned joggers or your average baby buggy. Is this some sinister attempt to discredit the trial opening of the Broadwalk to cyclists by the Royal Parks, or a way to increase the crime figures for Camden before the end of the financial year? And why did they demand our names and addresses?
I think we should know !
ANDREW BOXER, NW5
