Camden New Journal - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 4 December 2008

Brollies up! An end to leaky problems

• I DON'T think your article (Brollies up: life with leaks, November 27) is quite fair.
I’m sure we all sympathise with the mother and daughter on the Regent’s Park estate suffering leaks through their ceiling.
We investigated these problems and discovered that in fact they were from the flat above, which isn’t owned by Camden Council.
In the past month there have been no issues with leaks that we have been notified about, as the leaseholder in the flat above has now rectified the problem.
We have also inspected the building’s roof which was found to be in good repair with no problems.
We are working with the tenant to resolve other issues in her home and we will, of course, contact the owner of the flat above again to ensure there’s no recurrence.
Camden Council’s repairs contact centre is at: 020 7974 1212 or housingrepairs@ camden.gov.uk; 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday.
For emergencies outside these hours call 020 7974 4444.
Cllr Chris Naylor
Executive Member, Homes and Housing Strategy
