Camden New Journal - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 27 November 2008

Visually impaired in search of a millionaire or two

• WITH the help of my writing frame I can write this letter, but I cannot read it.
There are many others in Camden blind or partially sighted.
This letter is therefore addressed to sighted readers who may know someone who can no longer see, to read, write or enjoy a fully independent life. Sight loss means decreasing activity and isolation. Some can cope with being alone, but for others it can lead to depression.
Visually Impaired in Camden (VIC) is a voluntary organisation that aims to keep these disadvantages at bay. We have a monthly newsletter and monthly event when we share our knowledge, experience, seek useful information from professionals, are entertained by visiting speakers or entertain ourselves.
Ask anyone who would like to be a member to call me (020 7722 8727) or our part-time administrator (020 7255 9730) at 58 Phoenix Road, NW1.
At the moment, membership is free, but we are rapidly running out of money. If anyone knows a millionaire (or two) who would be willing to sponsor us, we’d like to hear from them, too.
JF Rossiter, Chairman, VIC
