Camden Sports - STEVE BARNETT

Two into London Cup draw

TWO of the top teams from the Camden Sunday League booked places in the last 16 of the prestigious London Intermediate Cup.
Sharp-shooter James Cole was again the star of the show as Phoenix eased past West London Sportsmen. Cole opened the scoring with his 10th goal of the season midway through the first-half when he volleyed home Neil Bralle’s floated free-kick.
Phoenix were denied a penalty minutes later when Cole was brought down in the box. Instead of dwelling on the referee’s decision, the Bill Price Cup winners pushed for the all-important second goal, which came when Dean Syer scored from close range after Cole’s rasping 25-yard shot was spilled by the keeper.
Division One rivals Reddot are also through to the final stages following their resounding victory over Rolls Park. Man-of-the-match Anthony Clark put on a lethal display of finishing with four goals. Jason Medford and John Donovan were also on target as the Dots ran out 6-1 winners.
