Domination: Swiss Cottage on podium in all but three races
FAB four Felix Samuels, Edward Graham, Leo Jaggs and Ioa Pok Wong joined forces to help guide Camden Swiss Cottage to victory in round two of the National Swimming League on Saturday at Eltham.
The speedsters’ combined efforts recorded a winning time of 1:45.41 in the boys’ 15 and under 200m freestyle relay, finishing a full five seconds faster than their nearest rivals.
Competing in 50 separate events, Camden dominated the competition with 29 victories and 47 top-three finishes.
The club also celebrated a top-three finish in all
16 relay races, capturing 12 wins along the way.
Triumphant trio Robin Devons, Alexander Burgess and Edward Walsh gained valuable points by winning both of their individual events.
Showing experience beyond her years, Devons hit a new personal best of 2:23.71 to win the Ladies’ Open individual medley, before taking top spot in the butterfly with a time of 1:05.99.
In the boys’ 13 and under category, Burgess also rewrote the record books on his way to winning gold in his backstroke and butterfly events.
Walsh completed the double firsts in the Men’s Open with wins in the breaststroke and the freestyle. There were also outstanding performances from
Kelly Hookway, Sarah Taylor-Reid, Sophie Rittenhouse and Lucas Perry-Hill.
Overall Camden Swiss Cottage won the competition with a staggering 367 points, finishing 90 points clear of their closest rivals.
