Camden New Journal - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 20 November 2008

Surgery locums coming and going

• I AM concerned at the situation at Camden Road Surgery since the takeover by UnitedHealth.
My doctor who was so helpful and was highly thought of by patients and has been at the practice a number of years has now left. An excellent locum was sacked and as the senior doctor only works part-time there is now one resident doctor with locums coming and going. There is no consistency with staff. Lack of communication with patients (many elderly patients have missed out with their flu jabs as unless you visited the surgery you were not informed of given dates).
A number of changes have been made I am not sure they are for the better. Instead of giving the contract to a private company it should have been given to the doctors themselves who are familiar with patients and what is needed to make our surgery run well.
