Camden Sunday League Challenge Cup

THERE are just eight teams left battling it out for our prestigious Camden Sunday League Challenge Cup following this weekend’s action-packed second-round matches.
Archway Allstars will be flying the flag for Islington following their resounding victory over Division Two strugglers MDM. Archway got off to a flying start when Leigh Hartley ran onto a through ball from James Birney and lobbed the keeper after only five minutes.
Martin Jackson doubled the advantage with a stunning 20-yard drive, before turning provider with a delightful cross that allowed his brother Craig to head home a third.
The unstoppable Hartley made it 4-0 on the stroke of half-time with his second. The match was marred when Martin Jackson was sent off for violent conduct.
Despite being a player down, Archway still managed to push forward and find another two goals. Craig Jackson netted his second from close range, while Hartley completed his hat-trick to lead the Division One side to a 6-1 victory.
Archway will play either AFC Brasenose or the Packenham in the next round.
The Constitution will be among the teams representing Camden in the quarter-finals after a comfortable 3-0 win over Lord Tredegar. Substitute Seb Timmins came off the bench to score a stunning hat-trick and set up a clash against league newcomers Field Crusaders, who progressed into the last eight with a 3-0 win over Boston Arms.
Surreal Madrid came from two goals down to beat Sir Robert Peel in a five-goal thriller at Hackney Marshes.
A 35-yard screamer from Martin Lightbody and a neat finish from Yemo Tenku saw Madrid battle back to level the scores at 2-2, before Matt Rooney netted the winner with a stunning individual goal.
Madrid will now face Cobden Athletic, who stormed into the final stages with a 10-2 win over FC Bertoli.
