Kids at fever pitch!

SCORES of youngsters from across Camden and Islington caught cup fever this week, scooping awards at two top football tournaments.
Teams turned out in force at the Winchester Sports Pitch in Swiss Cottage to take part in the African Cup of Nations.
The big winners of the competition was Copenhagen Youth Project, flying the flag for Cameroon, who won both the Under-10s and Under-16s trophies. Copenhagen’s Patrick Brady was voted the Under-16s most sporting player.
In the Under-10s Wafiq Matin of Somers Town Futures won the top goalkeeper award, and Winchtonians’ Pau France was crowned most sporting player.
Elsewhere two goals from Jordan Parmer and a strike from Luke Rushe saw
Venue FC, who were representing Nigeria, capture the Under-14s title. Somers Town duo Terry Kabamba and Motia Rahman won the most sporting player and top goalkeeper awards respectively.

• MEANWHILE at Acland Burghley School footballers from William Ellis, South Camden Community School, Hampstead, Haverstock, Camden School for Girls and Quintin Kynaston all showed off their silky skills in the Federation Cup.
Organised by the Camden Secondary Schools Federation, it was the boys from Burghley who dominated the Tufnell Park turf with victories in the Year 8 and Year 10 and 11 competitions.
Elsewhere Hampstead won the boys’ Year 9 trophy, while players from Haverstock School in Chalk Farm were crowned kings in the boys’ Year 7 tournament.
The Camden School for Girls ‘A’ team also hit the trophy trail after storming to glory in their Year 10 and 11 league.
