Bacary Sagna with Haverstock students
Gunners’ French star fires up pupils with language master class

PUPILS learning French in their own time have been cheered on by Arsenal star Bacary Sagna.
The French right-back has visited Haverstock Hill School students studying French through the after-school Arsenal Double Club, a programme set up to mark the team’s double-winning campaign in 1998.
It uses the club’s resources to make learning fun for young people.
The year seven pupils chatted to Sagna in his native tongue last Wednesday. But it wasn’t all hard work as the Arsenal star and the students took to the pitch for some football training.
Sagna said: “It’s great to be here today. Learning languages at a young age is so important. It’s great fun to help these youngsters learn French.
“Today I help them. Tomorrow they help me. I hope they’ve enjoyed the session today. I did!”
Sagna’s visit was part of a wider Premier League initiative, Places for Players, which aims to highlight the commitment the 20 Premier League clubs have to their communities.
