Camden New Journal - Letters to the Editor
Published: 9 October 2008

How the ‘hub’ will help patients

• THANK you for reporting our meeting in the Fleet Community Centre (GPs in fight for their jobs, October 2).
I chaired the meeting and would like to correct a misunderstanding.
You suggest that with Dr Caroline Sayer’s model patients would first go to a “hub” in the hospital before being redirected to their surgery.
The doctors who spoke were both adamant that their patients would be diagnosed in their usual surgeries but that some enhanced care could be provided in the “hub”.
The fact that 80 local residents attended the meeting shows how concerned they are about the lack of information from the Camden Primary Care Trust who are responsible for our local health services.
JUNE GRUN, Savernake Road, NW3
