Camden New Journal - Letters to the Editor
Published: 18 September 2008

Grumpy bus bully

• ON September 3 my little brother and I got on a C2 bus.
He is a well-behaved two-and-half-year-old.
I am looked upon as a young (and stupid) mother, who should not have got pregnant. In reality, I am a carer for my mum and help with my little brothers. They are very bright and polite, respectful little boys with manners. I got off my seat for an elderly man; no thanks from him, but I didn’t mind. But then to hear him complain how my little brother was kneeling on the chair! How I should teach him right from wrong.
I hate the way we teens or young people (I am 20) get judged and scowled at. The man was very aggressive in his tone.
I wouldn’t mind if we had a “delinquent” child, swearing and screaming, but he wasn’t hurting anybody. I just can’t believe that people can be so horrid; I gave up my seat to be shouted at. He was a grumpy old bully. You now know why young people have given up on respect.
