Camden News - by PAUL KIELTHY

‘Clean up brothel eyesore’

A BROTHEL left derelict 18 months after two people were killed in a fire should be bought by the Town Hall, a councillor claimed on Monday.
A blaze tore through Touch of Class sauna in Royal College Street, Camden Town, last March. A man and woman were trapped in the basement and killed.
The owners of the three storey building (pictured above), raided twice by police as a brothel in 2001 and 2005, could not be traced when inquests were held last August.
Cantelowes Councillor Paul Braithwaite wrote to Town Hall chiefs to ask: “What is Camden doing about the ex Touch of Class sauna premises on Camden Broadway, which burnt out 18 months ago with two fatalities?
“Can it be the subject of a Compulsory Purchase as it is an eyesore?”.
