Scores shine in trophy triumphs at finals of the Unity Cup

SCORES of trophy-chasing soccer stars turned out in force at the Warren Pitch in Whitfield Street, Fitzrovia, on Thursday for the grand finals of the Camden Unity Cup.
Over the past month more than 700 players from across Camden and Islington took part in the competition, which is organised by Fitzrovia Youth in Action.
Among the big winners on final day were Ingestre FC, who won the boys’ Under-18s title for the third time in four years. Entering two teams in the age category, the club, which is based at the Ingestre Community Centre in Kentish Town, also won the runners-up trophy, while striker Hassan Soboh was named Player of the Tournament.
Somers Town lifted the Under-12s mantle with a 5-0 win over West End FC, while Chettle Court Rangers beat Islington’s Copenhagen Youth Project 6-3 to capture the Under-10s title.
Elsewhere Queen’s Crescent and ACE United celebrated trophy triumphs after winning the Under-16s and Under-14s competitions respectively.
In the girls’ competition, Hampstead scored eight against Fitzrovia on their way to winning the Under-16s trophy, while Camden Sports beat Winchester 4-2 in the Under-12s final.
