Tenants’ champion is polls hope

LABOUR has taken heart after selecting a well-known tenants’ leader to stand in the Hampstead Town by-election.
Larraine Revah, who represents residents on Russell Nurseries estate, off Haverstock Hill, was confirmed as the party’s candidate on Tuesday. It is the first time she has stood for a place on the council but she is a familiar face at Town Hall housing meetings.
Labour leader Councillor Anna Stewart said: “You don’t get more local than Larraine. She has a strong track record in getting results and keeping Town Hall leaders, of all political colours, on their toes.”
The poll, to be held on September 25, follows the resignation of Conservative Mike Greene. The Tories are hoping to defend the seat but are expected to face competition from the Lib Dems, who are fielding candidate Linda Chung.
Ms Revah said: “People are getting fed up with the failure of the Lib Dem and Tory alliance to listen when they consult people on issues which are important to us. A vote for the Lib Dems is a vote for the Tories.”

If traders have been warned about the consequences and still ignored them in this way they should be named and shamed. It's disgraceful.
