Camden New Journal - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 14 August 2008

Bike news update

• WOW! The power of the press.
No sooner had your newspaper hit the streets on the Thursday morning, than I received a call from a woman in Mornington Crescent, who recognised my bicycle from the photograph you printed in your story (First David, now Rebecca; which Tory bike is next? July 31).
It had been chained since Tuesday night (minus its basket and seat) to a lamp-post across the road from her house. I immediately rushed up to Arlington Road and was delighted to be reunited with my bike. The police came with their bolt cutters (right) and removed it from the lamp-post, and even drove it home for me, as it was impossible to ride without its seat.
I just wanted to say thank you all so, so much. I am really delighted and pleased.
With all good wishes.
CLLR REBECCA HOSSACK
Cons, Bloomsbury ward
