Bogac Ayhan and Felix Samuels in the swim
Kelly and BOGAC lead medal splash at Sheffield meet

YOUNG swimmers surpassed all expectations as they touched home in medal winning times at the British National Age Group Championships in Sheffield at the weekend.
Camden Swiss Cottage swimmers Kelly Hookway, 11, and Bogac Ayhan, 14, were the pride of the club as they made the finals of a string of events.
Hookway’s best time of 1.04.71 saw her into the 100m free finals where she took silver with a speedy 1.03.81.
Ayhan pulled off his best performance in the last of his five events, taking fourth in the 100m butterfly final with 59.06 but taking bronze because the winner was a guest competitor from Dubai.
Ensger Kotterink, 14, was hot on his heels with fourth British club swimmer in the 100m fly final in 1.00.59 and 200m fly final in 2.14.08, before setting bests in 100m free (56.76) and 400m medley (4.58.26). Three more swimmers capped a great season by qualifying for the National Age Groups for the first time.
Alex Peake, 12, finished fifth in the final of the 12-years 200m breaststroke final and Edward Graham swam a best of 9.11.08 in 800m free. Alex Burgess, 13, was 25th in 800m free in a personal best time of 9.26.52.
