Camden New Journal - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 17 July 2008

Merger can be a positive move

• THE merging and relocation of two schools must cause legitimate concern to existing parents on many levels.
Linking a mainstream school with a school for deaf children need not be to anyone’s disadvantage. Everything depends on how this is accomplished.
My daughter has completed seven happy years of education at Highgate Primary School in Haringey where a significant number of pupils have English as their second language.
It is partnered with Blanche Nevile School for Deaf Children and in my view this has been nothing but a wholly positive and enriching experience for all concerned.
Deaf and hearing children come together for some lessons, share meal and play times and attend signed assemblies.
