Swiss dominate with glut of gold

MEDAL master Callum McDougall led the charge for Camden Swiss Cottage Swimming Club at the weekend in the club’s latest outing in Ealing.
In the last long-course competition in London for the season, the speedster dominated the pool in the boys’ 14/15 category as he won gold in the 50m breaststroke, the 50m freestyle and the 50m and 100m backstroke. In an outstanding individual display, Callum also won four silver and two bronze medals.
Competing in the same age category, team-mate Santiago Parilli captured gold medals in the 100m fly and the 200m freestyle.
Santiago furthered his medal haul with four silvers and two bronze.
In the girls’ competition, Sarah Taylor Reid (pictured in action) clinched gold in her 200m breaststroke event, before going on two claim silver medals in the 400m individual medley and the 100m breaststroke. Sarah capped off a series of creditable performances in the girls’ 12/13 category with third place finishes in the 50m breaststroke and the 400m freestyle.
Elsewhere Olivia Willis took silver in the 50m fly, the 50m breaststroke and the 50m backstroke, and bronze in the 100m and 200m freestyle.
The medal count continued to climb with golden girls Robin Neumann and Devon Robins winning nine titles between them. Robin touched home first in the 100m, 200m and 400m freestyle and the 100m and 200m backstroke, while Devon was first in the 50m and 200m fly, the 400m individual medley and the 400m freestyle.
There were also medals for Alex Panteli, James Slade, Chloe Spiby, Alex Mackay, Harry Needs, Max Hayhurst, Andrew Hardt, Liam Coyle, Eugene Potter, Edward Graham, Jack Martin, Kelly Hookway, Amelia Brown, Katharine Spooner, Reut Benaim, Tamsin McKinnon, Camilla Grossman, Xerxes Panthakee, Archie Moat, Isa Ouwehand, Lucas Perry-Hill, Alexander Burgess, Joel Sands, Jesse Matthews, James Burgess and Aron Barta.
