Five-year-old Charlotte Stier is ship-shape for the Brookfield fete
Dads’ band helps raise funds to the tune of £7,000 at school summer fete

MAKING strawberry jam-themed crafts, exchanging runner beans for raffle tickets, and entering a fruit and vegetable art competition were just some of the eclectic activities primary school children took part in at the Brookfield Summer Fair.
The event was organised by Brookfield Primary School’s Parent Teacher Association (PTA) to raise money for a new nursery and an organic vegetable patch.
More than 500 parents, teachers and children from the school attended the event and £7,000 was raised in total. Music was provided by a dads band and teachers bravely performed Ben E King’s classic hit Stand By Me at the fete on Saturday,
Top prize in the tombola was a VIP tour of Tottenham Hotspur Football Club in White Hart Lane and first prize in the raffle was an annual pass for four people to Legoland.
Brookfield’s assistant headteacher Laurel Fleck said: “The event was a huge success and the kids really enjoyed themselves. Credit to the PTA for making it such a wonderful day.”
