Terri Berg with her beloved eight-month old thoroughbred whippet puppy, Manon
Dognapper loose on the Heath?

Missing eight-month-old pup is the fifth suspected dog theft since April

WITH her painted toenails and shiny collar, Manon the dog cut a distinctive figure on Hampstead Heath.
But the whippet puppy’s flamboyant dress sense appears to have earned her some unwelcome admirers.
The eight-month-old thoroughbred went missing while being walked on the Heath last week.
The only trace left was her glitzy collar, found hanging from a nearby fence two days later.
Her distraught owner, Terri Berg, from West Hampstead, fears a dog-napper might be on the loose and has called in a private investigator to track down the culprit.
Ms Berg said: “I am absolutely broken and desperate and I’d do anything to get my dog back. I have put up posters everywhere and everyone knows about this.”
Ms Berg believes a thief used food to tempt Manon to run off with them.
She has offered £1,000 reward, no questions asked, to anyone who reunites her with Manon and cash rewards for information leading to the puppy’s return.
The police have also been informed.
Ms Berg said her other dog, a whippet bedlington cross, is pining for Manon. She said: “She has been sleeping in Manon’s fleecy bed and chewing her blanket and wondering where her little friend is. I’ve been sobbing my heart out and dogs are very sensitive to that type of thing.”
But the mystery of where Manon may yet be solved.
Dog walker Esther Winslet has already come forward with a possible sighting of the dog being led away by two women the day she disappeared.
Four other suspected dog thefts have been reported to Camden police since the start of April this year.
