Camden New Journal - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 3 July 2008

Amenities

• I AM a trader at Queens Crescent and the word circulating around the market has been: “D’you hear, they turned down the Town Green at Talacre Gardens. Unbelievable!”
Our grandchildren use the Talacre sports centre and Talacre Gardens regularly. Both these amenities are cherished by loads of people from everywhere in Camden and even Islington.
My partner was raised in the Talacre neighbourhood. Our roots are there. We feel for the poor residents of Haverstock ward who have fought so hard to secure this park for their community and for us too, all to no avail.
It is indeed hard to believe that elected councillors would have dismissed this important issue and the Commons Act 2006 which was specifically designed to protect just such a piece of land for the enjoyment of their people.
