Apprentice Abd-Allah Ayaz: ‘It’s a challenge’

Trainee plumber with a mission to aid village

AT 20, Abd-Allah Ayaz is living proof of the way an apprenticeship can change lives.
Next week, Mr Ayaz, from the Rowley Way estate, in West Hampstead, will take the skills he has learnt on his plumber’s apprenticeship to Costa Rica, where he will build a water pump for a remote village.
He will also help build a school during the five-week trip, organised by Raleigh International charity.
Mr Ayaz, who was the first person chosen for the project, said he hoped it would inspire other young people in Rowley Way to pursue apprenticeships.
He said: “It’s a challenge, but life without challenges just isn’t life. Young people are the next world leaders, and there’s so many people who don’t have a sense of anything.”

Yes - its good isnt it but I wish you wouldn't call our place "Rowley Way Estate" !
Its either Alexandra Road (official) or the Alexandra and Ainsworth estate (fine to say Rowley Way) - thanks
