Ignorance
• WHEN I receive a Liberal Democrat leaflet through the door I am always irritated by the ignorance they presume their readers to possess.
Their cooked up bar charts “only the Lib-Dems can unseat [the incumbent party]” rest on a basic fallacy that just because people voted one way last time they will necessarily do so again.
Councillor Paul Braithwaite’s letter of June 19 certainly indicates this. He should know that The Socialist Party has, since 1904, been exposing the fact that the Labour Party is not, and never has been, a socialist organisation.
The only people to routinely refer to Labour as the socialist party were the Rothermere press.
Maybe the Lib Dems are known as yellow Tories for a reason.
