Market Road swamped by Cup final fever

Goals galore as hotshots of Camden and Islington Youth League put on super show

MARKET Road was brought to a standstill on Friday when trophy-chasing youngsters from the Camden and Islington Youth League flocked to the artificial pitches for cup final day.
Match winner Ryan Dixon scored the only goal of the game as Westway beat Crown and Manor to lift the Under-9s Alan Michael Browne Challenge Cup. There was some consolation for Crown and Manor with Geoffrey Okonkwo being voted the Player-of-the-Match.
Jake Kenneally struck twice as Futebol De Salao overcame Lyndhurst to win the Under-10s final. Columbus Iyayi was also on target as FDS ran out 3-0 winners. Lyndhurst’s Nathan Wanzola was awarded the top player mantle.
St Pancras rounded off a memorable season in the Under-11s Division when they beat Lyndhurst 4-0 to complete a league and cup double.
Sharp-shooter Alex Tegene scored twice, while goals from George Yianni and Hendrick Bungisa completed the rout.
The closest fought final came in the Under-12s competition where Islington Admiral Youth needed extra-time to overcome Somers Town.
Player-of-the-Match Billy Foster scored for Somers Town, while Jake Hutchings was on target for Admiral. With the game heading for penalties, Michael Neng Abayaateye scored a stunning volley to take Admiral to the double.
Chapel were crowned cup kings in the Under-13s tournament following their 4-0 win over Tufnell. Two goals from Leonel de Gama and strikes from Player-of-the-Match Dillon White and Omar Rowe sealed an emphatic victory.
Meanwhile in the Under-14s competition, champions Isledon Wolves completed the double with an 8-1 win over a depleted Hampstead side.
Super striker Aiden O’Brien led the charge with four goals, while Man-of-the-Match Ishmail Koroma bagged a brace.
Keitel Frankle and Enoch Adjei were also on target for Wolves. Elliot Powell grabbed a consolation for Hampstead, who played the entire game with just seven players.
