Is Kenwood set to be another Glastonbury?

FEARS for the grassland in the grounds of Kenwood House have emerged after English Heritage were given permission to hold eight concerts at the Grade-I listed house this summer.
A new area for the stage has been earmarked, but there are fears it will ruin the rolling lawns.
The Heath and Hampstead Society’s John Weston said: “It is already a boggy site which will no doubt become boggier once 10,000 people have encamped on it for a while.” He added that the new site did not solve long-term funding problems for the home, and called on English Heritage’s finance chiefs to find new ways of maximising the house’s income.
He added: “It has tied itself to loud concerts in order to make up for funding taken away from it by the government.
“However, other money making opportunities exist that could stop Kenwood’s gradual transformation into Glastonbury Mark II.”
