Heading for the nationals – Kelly Hookway
Swimmers fly to win

MEMBERS from Camden Swiss Cottage Swimming Club were back in action at the weekend when they flooded to the Enfield Open Meet at Southbury Road.
Golden boy Bill Bradley was among the perfect pool performers in the boys’ competition as he won all six of his events. The triumphant 11-year-old recorded four new personal bests on his way to winning the 200m and 400m freestyle, the 100m fly and the 50m breaststroke. He also won gold in the 200m individual medley and the 200m fly.
Club mate Alex Burgess added to the medal haul as he placed in six events, taking gold in the 200m fly, the 200m backstroke and the 400m freestyle.
The gold rush continued with Edward Graham winning the 200m individual medley and the 50m breaststroke.
Other medal winners included Xerxes Panthakee, Eugene Potter, Aron Barta, Vincent Neves, Scott Broadis, Bogac Ayhan, Joel Sands, Liam Coyle, Lucas Perry-Hill, Jack Martin, James Burgess, Andy Hardt, Metin Ayhan and Josh Tomas-Merrills.
Starlet Isa Ouwehand was among the swimmers who excelled in the girls’ events. She won her 200m individual medley, before taking silver in the 50m and the 100m fly. Team-mate Reut Benaim followed her Speedo success with five golds and a bronze, while Jessica Hobbs won six medals, including gold in the 200m backstroke.
Naomi Wakeham-Aredes won four golds and three silvers, with the highlight being her 100m breaststroke victory. Cordelia Grossman, Clara Ahmed, Paloma Friedrich, Sarah Taylor-Reid, Alba Norris, Lisa Imas, Camilla Grossman, Kat Spooner and Sarrounia Samuels also placed on the winners’ podium.
Meanwhile at the Rotherham Metro Gala in Sheffield, Kelly Hookway, 11, qualified for nationals in both the 100m and 200m freestyle, winning bronze and silver respectively.
