Cumberland girls clinch title with perfect points

PLAYERS from Cumberland Netball Club were jumping for joy at the weekend when they were crowned champions in the Poly League.
The all-conquering side, who have already won the Middlesex County Premier League this term, beat rivals Just Ahead 45-25 to clinch the title without dropping a single point throughout the season.
The club’s ‘B’ and ‘C’ teams also enjoyed success when they joined forces to win the North London Netball League Rally. Strong performances from mid-court players Jane Spalding, Gillian Turnbull, Natalie Ekweogwu and Karen Carter led the Camden-based team to glory as they beat Hyde Park in an energy-sapping final to become the first Cumberland side to win the trophy.
