Youngsters goal crazy for football festival

Soccer stars bid for glory in primary schools’ cup

BUDDING young soccer stars were gripped by footy fever on Tuesday when the Camden Schools Sports Association held the grand finals of their Year 3 and Year 4 Primary Schools Football Championships.
Held at Parliament Hill Fields, the annual tournament was as popular as ever with 37 teams from 18 schools competing for top honours.
Hotshot Teddy Tonbridge was the hero of the hour in the boys’ final after he scored the only goal of the game to take Islington’s St Mary Magdalene Primary School to a 1-0 win over Brecknock.
Meanwhile in the girls’ final, New End School were crowned champions after they beat St Mary Magdalene thanks to goals from Melanie Hall and Ena Hajdaraj.
