Fencers are handed a funds boost

CAMDEN Fencing Club was given a cash boost of £600 to spend on new equipment on Friday after being nominated by English Fencing for the prestigious Cutlers Award.
The club, based in Acland Burghley School in Tufnell Park, was rewarded for its outstanding contribution to community sport.
On Sunday more than 100 fencers from 31 different clubs turned out for the Camden Leon Paul Junior Series Sabre Tournament at the school.
Soji Aiyenuro won Camden’s only gold of the competition in the boys’ Under-15s section.
One of the most outstanding performances of the day belonged to debutant Ruby Sweet, who won silver in the girls’ Under-11s event.
The medal count continued with Aleksandra Sosnowska and Izabela Sosnowska winning bronze in their respective age categories. Eden Amsalem, Jack Horrix and Fabio Artesi also all won bronze medals.
