Camden Crawl gig-goers queue in their hundreds in Kentish Town Road
Slight flaw on a rocking night!

Crawl fans ordered to sit down as crowding leads to ceiling collapse fears

THE Camden Crawl – a music festival that sees thousands of turbo-charged music fans descend on Camden Town each year – is not known as a quiet affair.
But the riotous scenes associated with the event reached a new high on Saturday when 100 gig-goers were ordered to sit down – or the floor might cave in.
The spectacular moment came during a gig by Cardiff rockers Los Campesinos! in the upstairs room at the Enterprise in Chalk Farm.
The Welsh seven-piece were three songs into their set when staff from the venue took to the stage to urge fans to calm down.
Manager Scott Adcock said: “They all started moshing and the floor started wobbling. So before anything went wrong everyone was asked to sit down.”
“The ceiling underneath looked like a bouncy castle,” he said.
But far from ruining the atmosphere of the show, the bizarre scenes made for an unforgettable night, he said.
“The gig was really good, although it was the strangest thing I’ve ever seen up there in my life,” said Mr Adcock.
The audience took to telling off anyone that dared stand up, he added.
Meanwhile, at the Dublin Castle, things were running more smoothly.
Mark Stuart, from Kentish Town, said: “The Crawl is getting bigger. Next year they should have the London Crawl!”
Laura Wilson, 27, from West Hampstead, was queueing to see Sam Sparro at the Earl of Camden in Parkway.
She said: “We weren’t sure what to expect; we thought we wouldn’t get to see anyone, but it’s well organised.”
