Camden New Journal - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 24 April 2008

Crime fight

• YOUR front page (Jacking hell of teenagers, April 10) was a timely reminder of the effects of crime on the community.
Crime is the number one issue for Londoners. That’s why we in the Liberal Democrats have put tackling crime at the heart of our campaigns for the May 1 vote.
In the mayoral vote, Brian Paddick has the experience to lead on this issue. I agree with Brian that the key to good policing is community policing, but links with the community in north Camden are threatened by the closure of Kentish Town police station.
In my own campaign for the Highgate ward by-election, we’re stressing this threat and Lib Dems on the council will continue fighting to save policing in our area.
Dr Henry Potts
Liberal Democrat candidate in the Highgate by-election
By-election candidates:
Alex Goodman, Green; Richard Merrin, Cons; Michael Nicolaides, Lab Henry Potts Lib Dem.
