Town set for tight title chase

Spartan South Midlands League: Division One
Kentish Town 2, Hoddesdon 0

LEAGUE leaders Kentish Town continued their promotion push on Saturday with a vital win over title rivals Hoddesdon at the Copthall stadium.
Town became the first team this year to stop Hoddesdon scoring as they secured the points they needed to return to the top of the table.
But with just five games to go, the title chase couldn’t be tighter with Kentish Town level on points with Haringey Borough. Both teams have scored 76 goals in 31 matches, but Town are top having conceded three goals less.
Stoney Stratford Town and Hoddesdon are also still very much in the hunt as they sit a point behind the joint leaders.
On Saturday man-of-the- match Roberto Quattromini was in outstanding form as he lead Kentish Town to a priceless home victory. The tricky left-back was instrumental in the opening goal as he played a stunning 25-yard pass to leading scorer Lee Scott, who netted his 26th goal of the season to give Kentish Town a deserved lead.
The home side continued to dominate and it was 18-year-old Quattromini, who lives in Finchley, who put the game beyond doubt on 74 minutes when he unleashed an unstoppable 20-yard drive to score only his second goal of the season and seal a 2-0 win.
Kentish Town now face the ultimate title test as they prepare for three games in just five days, with homes games against Bedford and Ampthill Town and an away fixture against Bedford Town Reserves.
