Goal rush as Panthers, Tigers and Lions roar!

Hundreds of young soccer stars converge on the hub for championships

SCORES of talented young soccer stars turned out for the Camden and Regent’s Park Football Championships on Saturday.
More than 400 youngsters made their way to the Hub in Regent’s Park for the ­competition, which was jointly organised by the Camden Sports Development team and the Top Corner Fund, a charity that supports and invests in sport for young people.
The afternoon of intense action saw Peabody Panthers claw their way to a narrow ­victory in the boys’ Under-11s category after they scored in the final minute of the match to narrowly beat Peel 1-0.
Soccerscool were crowned champs in the boys’ Under-12s tournament after storming to a 3-0 victory over Sport London Benfica.
In the boys’ Under-14s ­competition, South Hampstead Football Club were celebrating after winning the league.
The London Tigers won the Under-14s ‘A’ Division Cup, while Lycee clinched the ‘B’ trophy.
Girls’ teams were also out in force as they took part the Inter-District Championships. Both the Islington and the Camden Year 6 teams clinched trophies, finishing second and third respectively.
