Camden New Journal - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 27 March 2008

Why drop the donkey?

• WITH reference to the photograph (Rain means Palm Sunday parade gets a rough ride! March 20) I was interested and saddened to see there was no donkey in it.
It is fundamental to Christian belief that Christ rode into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday on a donkey and the crowds were waving palms. The donkey was there, but cut out of the picture.
Larry the donkey led the procession with Fr Bruce following with palms, then the brass band. But in your picture the procession began with the brass band, thus missing the whole point of processing.
