Camden New Journal - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 27 March 2008

Incredible profits

Copy of a letter to British Gas

• YOU are telling me that you will have to increase our gas and electricity bills by 15 per cent because of “changing market and to increase our standard energy prices”.
Where, then, do your incredible profits come from? Why do I, a pensioner with my wife on income support and three children under the age of eight, have to support your £571 million of profit, with a 15 per cent increase in rates?
It is an outrage.
The best way to beat the rising cost of energy is for you to share some of your profits with the rest of us by decreasing the amount we pay for gas and electricity.
