It’s medal mania!

Triple gold star Felix leads Swiss Cottage trophy charge at county challenge

STAR swimmer Felix Samuels won triple gold in the 100m butterfly, and the 100m and 200m freestyle as Camden Swiss Cottage Swimming Club shone in the final weekend of the Middlesex County Age Group in Enfield.
The triumphant 14-year-old set a new club record of 53.84 on his way to winning the 100m freestyle, breaking Peter Michaelson’s time of 53.89, which was set in 1979. Felix also won bronze in the 200m fly.
Club-mate Devon Robins was jumping for joy after she gained her first ever National qualifying time to clinch bronze in the 200m individual medley with a time of 2.25.71. Devon, 14, also won silver in the 100m freestyle and two more bronze medals in the 100m individual medley and the 200m backstroke.
Elsewhere the reliable Harry Needs won gold in the 200m individual medley and continued to smash club records as he clinched silver medals in both the 100m and 200m backstroke. And Bogac Ayhan scooped a glorious gold in 200m fly, as well as winning a hat-trick of silver medals in the 100m fly, and the 100m and 200m freestyle.
Another perfect pool performer was Kelly Hookway who won double gold as she touched home first in the 200m freestyle and the 100m individual medley, setting new club of 2.21.48 and 1.15.91 respectively. Kelly also won silver in the 100m fly, and bronze in the 100m freestyle.
The medal mania continued with Alex Mackay winning gold in the 400m freestyle, silver in the 100m backstroke and the 200m individual medley and bronze in the 100m individual medley and the 100m freestyle. William Rittenhouse took gold in the 200m fly, ahead of team-mate Billy Bradley, who won silver.
Alex Burgess was awarded double silver in the 200m fly and the 200m freestyle, while Naiomi Wakeham-Aredes continued a great season with silver in the 400m freestyle and double bronze in 200m individual medley and the 200m backstroke.
