Camden New Journal - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 20 March 2008

Libraries are seen by all as safe places to be

• THANK you to everyone who expressed concern for the librarian involved in an unprovoked attack at Swiss Cottage library last week (Shocked teens see librarian slashed as she serves man, March 13).
Although understandably shaken, I’m pleased to report that she is OK.
Naturally we will offer all the support we can and look forward to her returning to work.
Swiss Cottage library opened as normal the next day and following the police incident report, we are looking at whether there are any improvements we can make to security.
However, I would like to reassure visitors this was a very unusual incident and libraries are seen by all as safe places to be.
