Kentish Town to keep their star strike force

SHARP-SHOOTER Lee Scott highlighted his importance to Kentish Town on Saturday when he bagged a brace to lead the table-toppers to a 2-0 victory over Winslow United in Division One of the Spartan South Midlands League.
There were fears that the 24-year-old striker, who has scored 21 goals in 12 games this season, was ready to walk away from the club when it emerged he and strike partner Jonathan Donoghue had both signed for Ryman League Division One side Waltham Forest.
But Scott revealed that the incident was a misunderstanding, and that he only turned out for Forest because Kentish Town were not playing that weekend.
“To be honest, the whole thing has been blown out of proportion. I just wanted to play football and as I didn’t have a game with Kentish Town that weekend, I thought I would see what it was like playing at a higher level.
“I’m fully committed to Kentish Town, and want to help them win promotion. Anything can happen, but even if we miss out on a top-two finish this season, I can still see myself staying at Kentish Town. I’m enjoying my football at the club and I’m surrounded by good players, who are also my close friends.”
Town have reported Forest to the FA, and the Ryman club could be docked points if they are found guilty of illegally approaching Town’s star strike force. But Forest are still keen to get their man, and have since made a formal approach for Scott.
