Stun gun attack

A TASER stun gun was used in a robbery that left a 26-year-old needing hospital treatment in the early hours of yesterday (Wednesday).
The device, recently adopted amid controversy by the Met police as a non-lethal immobiliser, was used repeatedly on the victim as he walked home along Fortess Road, Kentish Town, at 3am.
The Archway man was ambushed by two attackers outside the Junction pub and reported seeing sparks fly from a small device with two metal prongs. One man used the stun gun, which sent waves of current through the victim’s body, while the second rifled through his pockets stealing his phone, MP3 player, keys and cash card.
A Met spokesman said last night: “The victim sustained minor injuries of a small mark on his right ear. The victim stated that he also had a couple of marks on his right-hand side. He attended hospital on advice from NHS Direct and was discharged early this morning.”
