Camden New Journal - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 7 February 2008

Festival fun day

• A FEAST of therapeutic activities, through music, song, story telling, along with karate demonstrations, clowns and magic was provided for free for up to 200 school children in Somers Town.
We held our winter festival on February 1.
We also had a photographic exhibition, photos taken over the last 10 years from our own street festival of culture. The goal of our community events is to break down the barriers by bringing our ethnic and spiritual diversity together through the arts. For we in START (Somers Town and St Pancras Art) believe we can do wonders through the arts. START is run by unpaid volunteers.
We hold the biggest street festival in Camden. The 2008 Festival of Culture will be held on July 12, in Chalton Street. Our events are funded by St Pancras Housing, one of our partners, who have over the years financially supported us, and for this we are grateful.
My thanks also go out to the volunteers who have kept the START flag flying.
