Camden New Journal - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 7 February 2008

Fight for exciting future

• GOVERNORS at Jack Taylor School are pleased to see Councillor Andrew Mennear has been forced to rethink plans to close the school (Governors will battle to save special school, January 24).
Building Schools for the Future gives us a once-in-a-generation opportunity to transform special needs education in Camden, but the council’s consultation process so far has been shambolic. Frank Barnes’s future was decided without proper consideration of the alternatives to closure and it looks like Jack Taylor is being given the same treatment. We look forward to seeing the option of federation on the consultation paper, and will fight to ensure Jack Taylor has an exciting future in new surroundings on the Adelaide Road site.
