Four gold and two silver medals as Saints fighters blitz Europe

A TOP team from St Pancras Amateur Boxing Club blitzed Europe over the weekend to win four gold medals and two silver at the Haslev Box Cup, which was held in Denmark.
Guided by trainers Raymond Bull and Mourad Boudjemam, the Saints were commanding in the ring.
Kentish Town’s Alan Higgins got St Pancras off to the perfect start, out-pointing Holland’s Suriel Hooker over three, two-minute rounds.
Higgins was in unstoppable form and took the first gold of the tourney when he knocked out Holland’s Ferrero Da Cruz in the third round.
Heavyweight Richard McCauley continued the winning streak when he beat Germany’s Maikel Holleman. McCauley was just as impressive in the final when he beat Holland’s Tom Cohen 10-2 on points to take gold.
The wins kept on coming with Charlie Webb beating Bret Ballantyne on points in his final bout.
Assistant coach Boudjemam also got in on the action when he beat Patrick Wellick from Holland to take gold after the referee stopped the contest in the second round.
St Pancras just missed out on six straight golds when both Charlie Worley and Joe Stevens were beaten in their respective finals by one point.
