Talacre protesters put case

A GOVERNMENT planning inspector will decide whether road changes needed to build a seven-storey apartment block in Kentish Town will go ahead after hearing four days of residents’ protests at a public inquiry.
Developers, backed by Camden Council, have faced criticism over plans to “stop-up” and build on Dalby Street, the access road to Talacre Sports Centre, and build a narrower “New Dalby Street” alongside the proposed 55-flat complex.
Campaigners including the Friends of Talacre Gardens and residents’ associations claimed that the new road would cause traffic hazards as sports centre-users and residents of the new flats competed for space.
The inquiry ended on Friday and inspector Colin Tyrrell is expected to publish his report within two months.
