Camden New Journal - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 24 January 2008

Too many traffic lights and street clutter already

• IT was great to read about the greening of Camden (Plan to create greener borough, January 17) .
But, please, no more “signage” even if it does “encourage walking”.
Our streetscape is already overmanaged and blighted by too many signs, traffic lights, road-markings and all the other paraphernalia which bureaucrats love to use to keep the rest of us in check.
I manage to walk tens of miles every week round Camden and neighbouring boroughs guided by common sense and an occasional look at the A to Z – and
I find the dangers of cycling and the cost of public transport are encouragement enough.
