Camden New Journal - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 17 January 2008

Framework for debate

• THE first Holborn and Covent Garden area forum meeting at Coram’s Fields was very well attended by around 150 residents.
There was unanimous support for our campaign for a local secondary school and several other important issues were raised including the need for a new Holborn mosque and for more family housing.
It was great to see so many people taking an interest in the future of our community, and surely evidence of our famous community spirit.
Thanks are due to our local councillors for organising and running such a successful meeting. It is very important that Camden Council is made aware of our local priorities.
The council is now consulting on the Local Development Framework, a huge document about the planned future use of land and sites in the borough, and it will eventually replace the existing Unitary Development Plan.
We believe is crucial that any sites that become available south of the Euston Road should be earmarked for building our secondary school.
If you think this is a priority for our area please let the council know. Just write your comments in an email and send it to ldf@camden.gov.uk – but hurry, the deadline is the end of January.
