Salma care company road fine

A PRIVATE care home has been fined for allowing staff to use a car with defective tyres after tragic runaway Salma ElSharkawy was killed in a horrific car crash in Derbyshire.
Adventure Care Ltd, where 12-year-old Salma was placed after being taken into care by Camden Council, was fined £4,000 and ordered to pay £60 costs at Chesterfield Magistrates’ Court on Friday.
The company pleaded guilty to using a vehicle with defective tyres.
Haverstock High pupil Salma, who is from Gospel Oak, and her care worker Beth Fitton, died in July last year when their car smashed into a tree in Buxton, Derbyshire.
Company director Garry Codman pleaded not guilty to the charges and a trial date is yet to be set.
