Calendar didn’t give full picture• I WAS interested to see the Camden history calendar in the Camden New Journal, but disappointed to see that all the photographs were from either the old boroughs of St Pancras or Hampstead – there were no photographs from Holborn, which also became part of the London borough of Camden in 1965 – what an omission.
Historical Publications, who supplied the majority of the photographs, have also published titles including Bloomsbury Past and Covent Garden Past. Surely whoever choses the pictures for the calendar could have consulted these books as well. But perhaps it just confirms in people’s minds that Camden south of the Euston Road does not exist.
